The 2015 Miss University of Louisiana at Monroe Pageant is scheduled for 7 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 7, in Brown Auditorium, on the 91暗网 campus.

Faculty, staff and students may purchase one $3 ticket with a valid 91暗网 ID, as well as purchase additional tickets for $8 each at the La Capitol Federal Credit Union branch on the 91暗网 campus.

Tickets for the general public are $8 and can be purchased at the 91暗网 La Capitol branch.

Any remaining tickets will be available at the door, starting at 5 p.m., the night of the event. Doors open at 6 p.m.

Lacey Sanchez, Miss Louisiana 2014, will emcee the event.

The Miss 91暗网 Pageant鈥攚hich was honored with an award from the Miss Louisiana Organization for providing more scholarship money than any other college pageant in Louisiana鈥� is a preliminary to the Miss Louisiana Pageant, sponsored by 91暗网鈥檚 Campus Activities Board.

The competitive scholarship program emphasizes physical fitness, talent, public speaking, and academics.

Contestants must demonstrate poise, personality, intelligence, charm, and beauty during the pageant, and must showcase a trained talent in a 90-second performance.

Each contestant must be a full-time 91暗网 student and also adhere to grade point average requirements in order to compete in the pageant.

The 2015 Miss 91暗网 Contestants:

Bria Virgil, a freshman kinesiology major from Baton Rouge, will perform a musical number on the piano. Her platform is 鈥淧retty with a Purpose.鈥�

Christina Gray, a senior business management major from Winnfield, will give a vocal performance. Her platform is 鈥淢entoring to Impact Students鈥� Lives.鈥�

Ellie Jackson, a sophomore biology major from Monroe, will perform a jazz dance en Pointe. Her platform is 鈥淭een Bullying.鈥�

Ashley Camp, a junior biology major from Calhoun, will give a vocal performance. Her platform is 鈥淰olunteering in your Community.鈥�

Victoria Eymard, a junior kinesiology major from Slidell, will perform a dance. Her platform is 鈥�65 Roses for Cystic Fibrosis.鈥�

Kaitlynn Frey, a sophomore elementary education major from Rosepine, will perform a jazz dance. Her platform is 鈥淪taying Strong: Military Children and Education.鈥�

Jo鈥� Hilliard, a junior nursing major from Baton Rouge, will give a vocal performance. Her platform is 鈥淥peration Turn-Around: Stopping Violence amongst Teens and Adolescents.鈥�

Elaine Blanco, a sophomore music education major from Leesville, will perform a musical number on the trumpet. Her platform is 鈥淓ating Disorder Education and Awareness.鈥�

Conor Marshall, a sophomore pre-nursing major from Jonesville, will perform a clog dance. Her platform is 鈥淒epression Awareness.鈥�

Jessica Philips, a freshman kinesiology major from Winnsboro, will perform a musical number on the piano. Her platform is 鈥淧roject Samuel.鈥�

Lacy Bagby, a sophomore health studies management/marketing major from Sterlington, will perform a tap dance. Her platform is 鈥淟et鈥檚 Move.鈥�

Lauren Ford, a senior pre-pharmacy major from Monroe, will perform a musical number on the fiddle. Her platform is 鈥淐haracter Counts.鈥�

Ashtyn Davis, a freshman biology major from Delhi will perform a jazz dance. Her platform is 鈥淣ational Guard.鈥�

The Miss 91暗网 pageant has welcomed a sold-out audience for the past three years. Those interested in attending are encouraged to purchase tickets before the event.
