MONROE, LA 鈥� The family of the late Tex Kilpatrick recently made a generous donation to the 91暗网 Foundation for the creation of the Tex Kilpatrick Endowed Professorship in Kinesiology. Members of the family and close friends of Mr. Kilpatrick spoke at a check presentation at the Laird Weems Center on the 91暗网 campus.听听
Carole Kilpatrick shared about her late husband鈥檚 passion for education, health, and for the University of Louisiana Monroe. Other speakers included 91暗网 President Dr. Ronald Berry, close friend of Mr. Kilpatrick Bishop Mark Foster, former 91暗网 Foundation President Malcolm Maddox, and retired 91暗网 development officer Anne Lockhart.听听
The Tex Kilpatrick Endowed Professorship in Kinesiology was created by a donation of $80,000 from the Kilpatrick family, which will be matched with $20,000 from the Louisiana Board of Regents. Following an investment period of one year, the endowed professorship will be made available to faculty in the Kinesiology department through an application process. The Dean of the College of Health Sciences will then select one professor to receive the endowment for three years.听听
Tex Kilpatrick鈥檚 service to 91暗网 was extensive and included participating in the selection of two 91暗网 Presidents, serving as Vice President of the 91暗网 Foundation, and co-chairing, with special friends Lynn and James Moore, the fundraising drive to build Bon Aire, the 91暗网 President's official residence.听
