Alpha Omicron Pi honors legacy advisor Carol Baker Robinson with naming of endowed scholarship

MONROE, La. 鈥撎�On Sunday, April 26, 2026, over 30 Alpha Omicron Pi听alumnae听and University of Louisiana Monroe administration gathered to honor a mentor and friend, Mrs. Carol Baker Robinson, with an endowed scholarship in her name.听听
听
The Carol Baker Robinson Alpha Omicron Pi Lambda Tau Endowed Scholarship was funded by alumna Julie O鈥橞rien (鈥�80) and fellow sisters of AOII. It supports an undergraduate sister in good standing who exemplifies the four core values of character, dignity, scholarship, and college loyalty. 听

鈥�Carol has modeled service and commitment to AOII's Lambda Tau Chapter since her initiation.听听She听is听Lambda Tau in the minds of those of us who came after her. AOII has given me so much that I am compelled to give back -- just as Carol has modeled for so many years,鈥澨齇'Brien听shared.听听

Mrs. Carol Baker Robinson was a 1962 Initiate of the Lambda Tau Chapter of AOII from Northeast Louisiana State College. She served as Vice President of Recruitment and never left the role.听After her graduation in 1964, Carol continued to听serve听the local chapter for another 60 years. She held various leadership roles and advisory positions within both the undergraduate chapter and听alumnae听chapter, including all executive committee roles (Alumnae Chapter President, Vice President, Membership Chair,听and Philanthropy Chair).听

Carol credits her time as an AOII as unforgettable. 鈥�To say that it was life-changing,听would听be听appropriate.听I would have missed so much in my college experience without AOII. That was one of the best decisions I have ever made,鈥澨齭he said.听

91暗网听President听Dr. Carrie L.听Castille added,听鈥淚 am honored to be among this group, especially Mrs. Carol. Thank you for听your steadfast commitment to our students, our alumni,听and听our听university. You have mentored generations of women to be the best version of themselves, and we are so grateful.鈥澨�听

Carol closed the reception with lasting advice that AOII听alumnae听have heard from her since day one, 鈥淕ive 120% to every project you take on and always remember that you never get a second chance to make that听鈥榝irst鈥櫶齣mpression.鈥�听
